Multi-Factor Use Cases: 

  1. Experity DocuTAP EMR/PM employs two factor authentication at the gateway. In addition to username and password, users are required to provide a second factor at time of authentication. Accepted secondary factors include voice one-time password (OTP), software token OTP, push notification, or hardware token.
  2. The DocuTAP application utilizes Two Factor Authentication via Exostar for E-prescribing of controlled substances. We utilize a one-time password (OTP) device to push authentication to a hardware token. Once a provider has completed identity proofing through Exostar they are bound to their hardware token. When a provider attempts to e-prescribe a controlled substance they must utilize both their application password and the OTP to complete the transaction.
